"Can Man” falls under ‘the best work you may never see’ category. Charged created the spot on spec as a vehicle for showcasing our skill at balancing artistry and technology to create the kind of innovative style of storytelling that sets our work apart from the crowd.

We took Nike’s ‘Just Do It’ message to the next level, with the motivational message …’Get Off Your Can.’ Then we brought it to life, creating ‘The Can Man’ – a two-and-a-half-foot tall fully pose-able model – that we rigged to go though his paces on a treadmill we fabricated to scale.

Shot on 35mm film, and cut on the Avid, this short combines the best of old-school stop-motion, newer digital manipulation, and puppetry The end result is a world with an integrated level of detail that’s uncanny!

Our collaborative team guided this single shared vision through the conceptualizing, scripting, directing, design, fabrication, animation and editing of the spot—integrating detailed puppetry, set-design and stop-motion animation.
