MoveOn

Info

When MoveOn.org needed to mobilize the country to push back hard in response to a national retail chain’s six-figure donation to support a far-right Republican gubernatorial candidate, they entrusted Charged Studio with the responsibility of creating a motivational spot on time and on budget – with a message that was on target.

Inspired by the critically acclaimed Lobo commercial, “Boycott Target" is an innovative parody of the 2007 spot, and illustrates Charged Studios’ ability to deliver an impactful message through simple storytelling – with an innovative concept and the artful use of traditional animation

Adam Pierce directed and produced the spot, supervising the animation, which was created with After Effects and Photoshop. With only three-days to develop a compelling concept, script and animate, score and edit the spot – we worked non-stop as a tight unit to create this simple yet impactful commercial that fit the bill.

MoveOn’s staff also worked around the clock – collaborating closely with our artists and keeping us on message.

With a deadline looming, Charged Studios’ Mike Landry’s crafted a tight script, delivering it within hours of the job being awarded – and got a thumbs-up from the client on the first draft. Even before the script was polished, the company’s resident composer, Daron Murphy, got to work scoring original music and sound design tailored to the message.

This spot demonstrates Charged Studios' ability to address an issue with immediacy and impact – and work efficiently as a unit with a shared vision.
